Support From Louth Town Council
On Tuesday, 3rd March Louth Town Council voted to support Friends of Park Avenue Play Park in our plans to create a play park in the east of Louth. They agreed to negotiate a land transfer of with Gleesons, the current owner of the site, of around 1000 square metres, and to draw up a lease agreement with the charity for a peppercorn rent. The charity will be responsible for ongoing management and maintenance of the site.
Elka Maddison, our chair, said: "We were encouraged by the care Louth Town Council took in the discussion. This support will allow us to move forward with our plans and keep the positive momentum going. It really is appreciated."

ELIF Announces Funding
We have had confirmation that our group has been successful in bidding for funds from the East Lindsey Investment Fund Pride In East Lindsey Fund. They awarded us £88,200, conditional on a support agreement from Louth Town Council for ongoing management and maintenance of the park, as well as the installation of CCTV.
The grant is for the full amount we asked for, which means work on the play park will not be delayed by additional fundraising needs.

Research Trip to Theddlethorpe Adventure Playground
We visited the adventure playground at Theddlethorpe to better understand the issues with running a large play park, keeping it well maintained and compliant with safety laws. Thanks to Greg and Sarah for showing us around and Cllr David Moore for liaising with Louth Town Council.
